Time: 9:00am - 1:00 pm

Location: Butler Music Center, Mansfield University

This interactive workshop, presented by members and friends of the Twin Tiers Orff-Schulwerk Association, focuses on the use of children's literature as a vehicle for engaging and meaningful music-making! If you have any tried-and-true lessons using books or poetry and would like to share your activities in an informal setting, please contact TTOSA president Rachel Proulx!

Katie Traxler - "Creative Learning Centers in the Music Classroom"

Date: Saturday, January 26, 2019

Time: 9:00am - 1:00pm

Location: Butler Music Center, Mansfield University

Learn how to introduce creative learning centers for practice, review, and assessment of musical concepts and help students develop appropriate small group behavior in order to implement center routines into your music class. Experience how small group center rotation can benefit your students by differentiating lessons for a variety of learning needs and allowing you to get in some occasional one-on-one time with your students!

Kate Bright - "Around the World in 80 Beats"

Date: Saturday, March 23, 2019

Time: 9:00am - 1:00 pm

Location: Butler Music Center, Mansfield University

Join Kate Bright as she takes you around the world in 80 beats! In this workshop, participants will explore the world of the Orff process and find new ways to sing, say, move, and play. By using simple speech patterns and easily created/obtainable manipulatives, teachers will learn how to process rhythms outside the world of 4/4.
